OGUN ASSEMBLY APPROVES MEDIUM TERM EXPENDITURE FRAMEWORK FOR 2024-2026
Ogun State House of Assembly has approved the State revised medium-term expenditure framework ( MTEF) for 2024-2026 to allow the State Government begin the process for the preparation of 2024 budget.
The approval followed the presentation of the report of the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation presented by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Wahab Haruna, who thereafter moved the motion for its adoption, seconded by Hon. Rasheed Kashamu and supported by the Whole House through a unanimous voice vote.
The adoption of the report led to the passage of the Assembly resolution through a motion moved by the Majority Leader Yusuf Sheriff, seconded by the Minority Leader Lukman Olalekan Adeleye and supported by the Whole House through a voice vote.
The Speaker, Rt Hon Olakunle Oluomo thereafter directed the Clerk/ Head of Legislative Service, Mr. Deji Adeyemo to forward the Assembly’s approval to Governor Dapo Abiodun for the State Government to begin early preparation of the 2024 State budget.
Also at the plenary, the Speaker enjoined the residents of the State to always support law enforcement agents through intelligence gathering by reporting any suspicious movements around their communities to the police.
Oluomo threw the challenge, while responding to the presentation of Hon. Adeniran Ademola, representing Sagamu II State Constituency, who reported some cases of attacks by men of the underworld leading to death of a resident in his constituency and sought the intervention of security agencies to checkmate the activities of criminals in the area.
