OGUN SPEAKER DESCRIBES CDAs AS CRITICAL TO SOCIETAL DEVELOPMENT, AS CDC HONOURS CLERK
The Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, has described community development associations as a veritable tool for galvanising sustainable development in the society.
Rt. Hon. Elemide gave the description when he played host to the members of the executive of the Ogun Central Senatorial District of Community Development Committee led by Alhaji Waheed Adekunle, who came to honour their immediate past Auditor, Mr. Sakiru Adebakin on his appointment as the Clerk and Head of Legislative Service.
The Speaker said that government appreciated the role of community development associations in bridging development gaps in communities across the State.
He acknowledged their role in conflict resolution among community members and residents, while commending Prince Dapo Abiodun- led administration for creating the enabling environment for the overall development of the State.
Speaking, Alhaji Adekunle acknowledged the unblemished record of the Assembly Clerk during his tenure on the Community Development Committee, saying his commitment to the growth and development of community development was commendable.
He solicited the Assembly’s support at initiating a bill that would strengthen the roles and activities of community development associations in the State to serve as a model for other states across the nation.
Responding, the Clerk/ Head of Legislative Service, Mr. Adebakin promised his unflinching support towards the development of community development associations in the State, recalling that his experience of dedicated service with the Committee had continued to be his guiding principle.
