OGUN ASSEMBLY REQUESTS SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS ON MAPOLY VENTURE
Ogun House of Assembly today continued with its ongoing 2025 budget defense session by Ministries, Departments and Agencies of Government with a directive to the Management of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Abeokuta to produce supporting documents of all ventures run by the institution to determine their current status.
The Assembly, through its House Committee on Finance and Appropriation led by Hon. Musefiu Lamidi, issued the directive while playing host to the Management of the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta led by the new Rector of the institution, Dr. Babatunde Jolaoso at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
Lamidi, who expressed disappointment over the non capturing of the records of the institution’s ventures in the 2025 budget proposal, stressed the need to have a full information about the ventures and its activities.
Musefiu in company of his co-lawmakers requested the institution to produce supporting documents on the leasing of the institutions petrol station, bakery and other ventures, and submit same to the Committee on Thursday, 19th December, 2024 by 2:00p.m.
He further emphasised the need for all MDAs to block revenue leakages, so as to allow more funds into government’s coffers for the sustenance of the implementation of development projects across the State.
Earlier while defending the institution’s budget proposal for next year, the Rector, Dr Jolaoso proposed a sum of N5.728bn as total expenditure for the fiscal year, out of which a sum of N2bn would go for capital, while N2.6bn would take care of personnel and N1bn was earmarked for overhead.
