OGUN SPEAKER ENGAGES STUDENTS ON LEGISLATIVE PRACTICE, AS ASSOCIATION BEGINS SENSITIZATION ON ‘BOY CHILD DAY’

Committed to moulding more societal leaders, especially in leadership positions, the Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide has engaged students in leadership positions within tertiary institutions on the need to learn the trends in leadership, embrace mentorship and be open to opportunities to further contribute their quota to the society.

Elemide disclosed this while engaging the members of Nigeria Association of Agricultural Students (NAAS) House of Representatives (NHR), Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta and the State Chapter of the National Association of Political Science Students, during a courtesy call on the Speaker at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

Elemide, who underscored the importance and dynamism of the legislature to any democratic society, admonished them to empower themselves with the necessary education for excellent service in leadership, while striving to achieve academic excellence in their endeavors.

In their separate responses, the Speaker, NHR, FUNAAB, Hon. Oluwatobi Toluwalope, and the President of the State chapter of the National Association of Political Science Students, Badejo Florence, appreciated the Speaker for the interaction and shared ideas, assuring that they would keep the flag of excellence in leadership flying.

In a related development, the Speaker has played host to the State wing of the Medical Women’s Association of Nigeria, led by the President, Dr. Ekundayo Adeola, assuring them of support in their proposed campaign towards the forthcoming ‘ Boy Child Day’, with a view to instilling in the male child, the ideals of resilience and patience to prepare them as future leaders in the home and the society in general.
