SECOND ANNIVERSARY: OGHA COMMENDS GOV. ABIODUN FOR APPROVING CONSTITUENCY PROJECT EXECUTION, ASSURES ON BETTTER REPRESENTATION

As the members of the Ogun State House of Assembly marked the second anniversary of their inauguration, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide has thanked the people of the State for having faith in them to continue to give quality representation, just as he lauded the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun for approving the Constituency Projects’ funds that would further impact the lives of the people positively.

Speaker Elemide, who gave the commendation today during the plenary commemorating the second anniversary, clarified that the lawmakers would only facilitate the projects, because the funds would only be paid to the contractors that won the bid to handle the projects in line with due process in project execution, and would be supervised by the relevant government agencies.

Elemide also thanked his colleague- lawmakers and members of staff for their continued support in rendering quality legislative service towards promoting good governance in the State.

The Speaker also appreciated the Management of the Olabisi Onabanjo University led by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ayodeji Agboola for donating a new mace, serving as the symbol of authority for the House of Assembly, which was immediately put to use through a house resolution, to replace the old one committed which had been moved to the Assembly archive.

He said that the actual celebration of the second anniversary had been shifted to a later date, which would coincide with the commissioning of some of their constituency projects, this he noted was in addition to some personal projects that had already been carried out by all the lawmakers in the various constituencies in the last two years.

In the same vein, a bill titled: H. B. No. 023/ OG/ 2025- The Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Commission ( Establishment) Bill, 2025 scaled first reading, as the Clerk/ Head of Legislative Service, Mr. Sakiru Adebakin read the bill for the first time before the State lawmakers.
