OGHA DIRECTS EWEKORO LG TO REINSTATE AWOFE-ADEBOLAJO AS BAALE OF ABESE TOWN

Ogun State House of Assembly through its Committee on Justice, Ethics, and Public Petitions, chaired by Hon. Seun Adesanya, has directed Ewekoro Local Government Council to withdraw the appointment letter issued Mr. Olawole Babayemi Aikulola, and immediately reinstate Chief Musiliu Awofe Adebolajo as the recognized Baale of Abese Town, under the local government area.

The directive followed an interface between the House Committee and parties involved in a petition submitted by the Baale of Abese Town, Chief Adebolajo against Mr Olawole Babayemi Aikulola, whom he allegedly accused of ” threat to lives, conduct likely to cause apprehension and breach of peace, imposition, impersonation, and instigation of violence”.

Arising from the meeting, Hon. Adesanya, urged traditional rulers across the State to desist from actions that could trigger communal crises, particularly through the controversial chieftaincy installation of individuals in communities within the State.

He emphasized that such practice could only cause confusion, and turn traditional stools into political instruments, with tendency to undermine the cultural and societal significance which were detrimental to peaceful coexistence of residents in the State.
