OGUN ASSEMBLY PASSES RESOLUTION BACKING YOUNG AGRO SERVICES IN LAND DISPUTE, REJECTS CLAIMS BY BANJOKO, OYEMOMI

‎‎

Ogun State House of Assembly has passed a resolution backing a firm, ‘Young Agro Services Ltd’, who was a petitioner in a land dispute, dismissing the claims of Engr. Victor Banjoko and Alhaji Kola Oyemomi over a parcel of land located along the Abeokuta–Sagamu expressway at Idi Tank Village, near Asun-Siun in Obafemi/Owode Local Government Area.

The passage of the resolution followed the presentation of the report of House Committee on Lands and Housing presented by its Chairman, Hon. Damilola Soneye, who thereafter moved for its adoption, seconded by Hon. Samsideen Lawal and supported by the entire House.

Consequently, the Majority Leader Hon. Yusuf Abiodun moved the motion for the adoption of the motion as a resolution of the House, seconded by Minority Leader Lukman Adeleye and was supported by the entire House.

According to the report, the House Committee on Lands and Housing, led by Hon. Soneye Damilola Kayode, held different meetings on the matter on Monday, 14th July and Tuesday, 22nd July 2025 respectively, in Room 215 of the Assembly Complex in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

He noted that the petition was submitted by T.V. Aiyegbusi & Co., representing Young Agro Services Ltd, who accused Engr. Victor Banjoko and Alhaji Kola Oyemomi on allegation of “forceful trespass, breach of peace, and threat to life”, over the disputed land.

Hon. Soneye stated that the House Committee reviewed all evidence presented by both parties and found no credible documents supporting the land transaction between Alhaji Oyemomi and Engr. Banjoko; thus, the committee declared the transaction invalid due to the lack of legal proof.

The House Committee recommended that Young Agro Services Ltd should “retain possession of the disputed land and continue its payment to the State Bureau of Lands and Survey in line with its allocation and assessment issued “.

It also advised that “any aggrieved party may seek legal redress through appropriate court of law”, stressing the need for peaceful and lawful resolution.
