OOUTH GENERATES OVER N2.9BN, COMPLETION OF TRAUMA CENTRE IN SIX MONTHS

Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH), Sagamu, has recorded major achievements in its 2025 mid-year budget performance, by generating over N1.378bn as revenue for six month including a donation of a Trauma Centre with equipment worth over N1.603bn within the period.

The CMD of OOUTH, Dr. Oluwabunmi Fatungase, disclosed this while taking turn to present the achievements of the teaching hospital before the State House of Assembly Committee on Health led by Hon. Wahab Haruna during the ongoing 2025 mid-year budget performance appraisal at the State House of Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

Dr. Fatungase explained that the Trauma Centre was generously donated by Dr. Sulaiman Adebola Adegunwa; emphasizing that the hospital generated a proportionate target of 86.39 % of its internally generated revenue within the period.

She added that the employment of highly skilled specialists, including neurosurgeon, the commencement of endoscopy services, and the successful deployment of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system, acquisition and installation of Sage 200 as well as ability to secure full accreditation under the National Health were parts of the achievements of the facility within the period under review..

In his response, the House Committee on Health led by Hon. Wahab Haruna, commended OOUTH’s performance, especially in infrastructural development and service delivery, noting that the health institution’s growing capacity in providing quality and specialized healthcare services to residents of the State and beyond deserved commendation.
