OGUN ASSEMBLY APPROVES REVISED 2026-2028 MEDIUM TERM EXPENDITURE FRAMEWORK

Ogun State House of Assembly has approved the revised State Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) for 2026–2028 earlier forwarded to it by the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, in preparation for the next fiscal year. This revised framework among other things included the issuance of debt instrument to the tune of N300billion towards partial funding of the 2026 annual budget.

The revised financial framework titled: “H. R. No. 156/ OG/ 2025- Revised 2026-2028 Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) ” was approved at a plenary presided over by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, following the presentation of the report of the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation by its Chairman, Hon. Musefiu Lamidi, who thereafter moved the motion for its adoption; seconded by Hon. Wahab Haruna and supported by the Whole House through a voice vote.

The report was subsequently considered and adopted sector by sector, with allocations covering personnel, overhead, and capital expenditures for the State’s various Ministries, Departments and Agencies from the year 2026 to 2028.

Thereafter, the Majority Leader, Hon. Yusuf Sheriff, moved the motion for the approval of the report, seconded by the Minority Leader, Hon. Lukman Adeleye and supported by the Whole House.

The Speaker thereafter directed the Clerk / Head of Legislative Service to forward the Assembly’s resolution to Governor Dapo Abiodun to allow for early preparation of the 2026 State Budget and subsequent fiscal years.
