OGHA ANTI-CORRUPTION COMMITEE REQUESTS INCREASED CAPITAL FUNDING FOR ICT BUREAU, SEEKS SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS

Members of the Ogun State House of Assembly Committee on Public Accounts and Anti-Corruption (PAAC), chaired by Hon. Damilare Bello, in continuation of the consideration of the 2024 Auditor-General’s Report on the State Ministries, Departments and Agencies, have sought increased funding for the Bureau of Information Technology to meet its ICT infrastructure demands across the State.

The Committee members made the call, while playing host to the Management team of the Bureau led by the Director of Standard Regulation, Planning and Research, Mrs. Olatundun Adekunte, during the consideration of the audit report of the Bureau at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

The House Committee urged the Bureau to submit an updated Fixed Asset Register and supporting documents on Power Generating Sets and Internet Service Charge, while reconciling its bank charges in line with the audit report.

The Committee also considered the audit report of the State Agricultural Development Corporation, led by its Director of Finance and Accounts, Mr. Solomon Olasehinde, and directed the Corporation to submit the income and expenditure reports from plantations in Apoje, Lomiro, Ibara, Ikenne, and Balekan.

The Corporation was also directed to provide evidence of dividend income from associated companies and details of land leased out forming the basis for revenue recorded as other investment income for the year under consideration,

In the same vein, the Committee while taking on the State Ministry of Culture and Tourism, led by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Dr. Qudus Yusuf, enjoined the Management to intensify efforts at ensuring legislative framework for hotel registration to boost revenue, whiie directing the Ministry to submit its Fixed Asset Register, provide documents on other equipment and reconcile bank charges in its financial records with the Auditor-General’s report.
