OGHA SPEAKER HOSTS FMC ABEOKUTA MANAGEMENT, PLEDGES SUPPORT FOR QUALITY HEALTHCARE DELIVERY

The Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, congratulated the newly appointed Chief Medical Director of the Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta, Dr. Titilayo Sarah Ibiyemi, describing her emergence as the first female CMD of the institution as a landmark achievement.

He expressed confidence that her leadership would deliver measurable progress in healthcare services across the State.

The Speaker, who received the management team at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, in the company of Honourables Lukman Adeleye, Babatunde Tella, Samsudeen Lawal, Dickson Awolaja and Oluseun Adesanya, also affirmed that the House remained committed to strengthening the health sector through responsive legislation and strategic collaboration.

He acknowledged the occupational risks faced by medical professionals and assured the management of the Assembly’s readiness to support policies that protect and motivate health workers.

He emphasized the need for unity within the institution and urged the leadership to foster teamwork and professional harmony.

Responding, Dr. Ibiyemi commended the Assembly for its sustained interest in the health sector and affirmed the Centre’s readiness to partner with the Legislature.

She pledged to reduce medical tourism by expanding access to specialized healthcare services within the State; assuring the lawmakers of her commitment to initiatives that will enhance service delivery and improve health outcomes for residents of the State.
