PEACEFUL CO- EXISTENCE, PANACEA FOR SOCIO-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT- OGUN SPEAKER

The Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, has emphasized that the quest for peaceful co- existence cannot be overemphasized in any society charting the path of socio-economic development.

Rt. Hon. Elemide stated this while playing host to the members of ‘Peace Initiative Network’, an umbrella for the groups known as ‘Peace in Our Cities’ and ‘Empire Fighting Chance, led by Dr. Femi Sodipo, who were on a courtesy visit to the Assembly.

He reiterated the need to continuously promote peace and tranquility in all parts of the nation to engender the deserved development; while appreciating the organization for assisting to promote peaceful co- existence, especially as the electioneering period is approaching.

He promised that the Assembly was committed to initiating people oriented bills for the benefit of society.

Earlier in his remarks, the Team Lead, Dr. Sodipo noted that the Peace Initiative Network had been in existence for 22years, disclosing that over 200 people had been empowered in Abeokuta, 32 youths were taking off the streets in Sagamu while other amenities like boreholes were sunk at different parts of the State.

He added that boxing kits were donated to the State Boxing Association yesterday courtesy of the World Championship Anthony Joshua, who is an indigene of the State.
