OGHA APPROVES REVISED LOCAL GOVERNMENT ELECTION GUIDELINES, RECEIVES EXECUTIVE BILL ON ELECTRICITY GENERATION

OGUN ASSEMBLY, DIGNITARIES CELEBRATE RETIRING CLERK, ADEYEMO

Dignitaries from all walks of life including retired Head of Service, former Clerks and Permanent Secretaries have showered encomium on the retired Clerk and Head of Legislative Service of the State House of Assembly, Alhaji Adedeji Taiwo Adeyemo, describing him as an astute administrator who stood out as a thorough bred civil servant all through his career in the State Civil Service.

Personalities including a former Head of Service, Elder Sola Adeyemi, former Clerk of the House, Muyiwa Adenopo and Commissioner I, in the State House of Assembly Service Commission, Barr. Dapo Odukoya, spoke glowingly of the retiring Clerk at a plenary session in Adeyemo’s honour presided over by the Speaker, Oludaisi Elemide, at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

They recalled that the former Clerk was an embodiment of knowledge and uprightness, who exhibited diligence, hardwork and expertise in the discharge of his duty, noting that his steadfastness to duty would inspire serving officers in discharging their duties.

Also showering their encomium, the Deputy Chief Whip, Hon. Babatunde Tella, member representing Ikenne State Constituency, Kunle Sobukanla and the representative of the Management and Staff of the State House of Assembly and Director of Information, Mr. Jamiu Lawal, all recounted memories shared with the retiring Clerk, saying his wealth of experience in the legislative proceedings both at the State and amongst the Clerks of the State Houses of Assembly in Nigeria remained outstanding.

They acknowledged his firm belief in the principle of fairness in passing knowledge across to his subordinates, while praying for more rewarding post- retirement period.

In his good will message, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Elemide, said the retired Clerk had distinguished himself as a teacher, Union Leader and administrator par excellence, whose contributions and expertise in legislative activities in the State House of Assembly in the last two decades would continue to make the State a reference point amongst the comity of States in the country.

In his response, the retiring Clerk appreciated God for the grace to serve humanity through the public service, disclosing that all those he was opportune to work with had impacted him tremendously.

He appreciated the leadership of the 10th Legislature for the honour of the special plenary to celebrate him, admonishing both the political and the entire Assembly workforce to continue to keep the flag of legislative excellence flying.

The Assembly equally celebrated five other members of Staff, who retired at different times from 2022 till date with presentation of various gifts to all the retirees.

Meanwhile a member representing Yewa North 1, State Constituency, Hon. Adegoke Adeyanju reported the transition of Kabiyesi, Oba Ebenezer Olanloye, Osinjaganimogu 1, the Olu of Igbogila who joined his ancestors at the age of 96 on 2nd of March, 2024 after ruling for 25years.

According to him, on behalf of all indigenes of Igbogila; home and abroad, and members of the Yewa Traditional Council, under the revered Paramount Ruler, Oba Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle MFR and by extension the entire citizens of the State on “the demise of our beloved Kabiyesi, Oba Ebenezer Olanloye, Osinjaganimogu 1, the Olu of Igbogila who joined his ancestors at the age of 96 on 2nd of March 2024 after ruling for 25years.

In consonance with the Ogun State new Obas’ Law (2021) which stipulates that Oba should be buried according to their religious beliefs, the burial arrangement of our Kabiyesi will be announced to the public in due course”, he stated.
