Ogun State House of Assembly, through its Committee on Works and Infrastructure, has called on the State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure to incorporate drainage systems into all road construction contracts across the state to prevent flooding and reduce the rapid deterioration of roads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Adegoke Adeyanju, made the call while leading other members on an assessment tour of the ongoing and completed road projects in the Ogun Central Senatorial District.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Committee commenced the assessment with the inspection of the 3.4-kilometre Adesan-Olu Road constructed by Central South Construction Company, as well as the 8.17-kilometre Magboro\u2013Abule Oba Road handled by China Civil Engineering Construction Company, both in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The lawmakers, who commended the level of works done also visited the completed 2.68-kilometre Alagbole\u2013Akute Road and assessed the ongoing Phase 1 of the Akute\u2013Lambe\u2013Agbado\u2013Oke Aro Road project spanning 9.2 kilometres in Ifo Local Government Area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Committee also inspected the ongoing Lagos\u2013Abeokuta Expressway project being handled by Craneburg Construction Company, which had reached about 70 per cent completion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The House Committee also had a tour of roads in Abeokuta North Local Government Area with the inspection of the 4.5-kilometre Elega\u2013Miliki to Saje Junction Road, where it expressed displeasure over the absence of the contractor and the Ministry\u2019s Resident Engineer despite prior notice on the visit.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
