The Clerk is the administrative head of the Parliament. He Supervises and Coordinate the carrier/ supporting staff of the Parliament.
Adebakin, Sakiru Aremu Born on 30th April, 1967 to the family of Adebakin Ogundare of Agbada-Omiyoola in Ilugun Ward, Odeda Local Government, Ogun State. He is happily married and blessed with lovely children
He commenced his formal educational career at St. Andrew's Anglican Primary School, Kila in 1973 from where he gained admission to Muslim High School, Isolu, Abeokuta, in 1979 for his secondary education and passed out in 1984.
After a successful Secondary Education, Mr. Adebakin proceeded to Ogun State Polytechnic, Abeokuta (now Moshood Abiola Polytechnic) in 1990 for National Diploma Programme in Business Administration and graduated in 1992 as the only Distinction student in that set. He furthered his education at the Ogun State University, Ago-Iwoye (now Olabisi Onabanjo University) in 1993 from where he graduated with Second Class Upper Division in 1997.
In his quest for more knowledge, he was admitted to University of Ado-Ekiti (now Ekiti State University) for a Post Graduate degree in Business Administration (MBA) and obtained a Master degree Certificate in 2004. He furthered his education at the National Open University of Nigeria where he graduated with a Master of Science (MSc) in Public Sector Management in Year 2016.
Mr. Adebakin's Professional Career started as a Master Grade II, Grade Level 08 at Nawair-Ud-Deen Grammar School, Obantoko, Abeokuta in September, 1999 after which he transferred his service to the Civil Service as an Administrative Officer, GL. 08 in 2001.
In the Civil Service, he has functioned in different capacities as an Administrative Officer, he served in various Ministries, Departments and Agencies which include the following; Ministry of Industries between 2001 to 2003; Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare from 2003 to 2004; Bureau of Political Affairs and Administration from 2004 to 2007; Bureau of Cabinet and Special Services between 2007 to 2014 and as the Director, Ogun State Emergency Management Agency(SEMA) between 2014 to 2018, and later Pioneer Director of Reforms and Innovation, Public Service Transformation Office (now Bureau of Public Service Reform) as well as Director of Cabinet at the Bureau of Cabinet and Special Services from 2019 to 2024
Mr. Adebakin was confirmed as the Clerk/Head of Legislative Service of the Ogun State House of Assembly on Thursday, 9th May 2024 and was consequently appointed same day.
As formally asserted by one of the former Permanent Secretaries of the Bureau of Cabinet and Special Services, Mr. Fagbohun K.P. in his ratings, Mr. Adebakin is not only diligent and dependable, but he is also very honest, humble and godly. In recognition of these noble qualities, three (3) former Heads of Service; Princess Iyabo Odulate, Mrs. Modupe Abibat Adekunle (FNIM) and Mr. Fagbohun K. P. gave him a Commendation Letter each on 30th June, 2010,15th June, 2011 and 15th February, 2024 respectively.
