2023 AUDIT REPORTS: OGUN ASSEMBLY REQUESTS PHYSICAL PRESENCE OF HEADS OF MDAs

Ogun State House of Assembly Committee on Public Accounts and Anti-Corruption has urged heads of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) concerned in the ongoing consideration of the 2023 audit reports to always make themselves available in line with the invitation by the House Committee.

The Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Damilare Bello, who gave the advice, while considering the 2023 audit report of the State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta; said that such would avail them the opportunity to have a good understanding of the financial status and procedures including the extant laws relating to public finance.

Bello in company of other lawmakers pointed out that the Committee would not accept representation in whatever guise from any of the heads of the MDAs.

He commended the management team of the Ministry of Education led by the State Commissioner, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu for his adherence to due process, accounting principles and proper record keeping for the financial year under review.

Taking turn to examine the financial records of the State Slum Regeneration Agency, the Chairman directed that supporting documents be submitted to the House to further clarify some budget heads, in relation to research and documentation and other related expenses.
