2023 AUDIT REPORTS: OGHA CHALLENGES MDAs ON INTER- AGENCY COLLABORATION, EFFICIENCY

Ogun State House of Assembly through the House Committee on Public Accounts and Anticorruption chaired by Hon. Bello Damilare, has urged Ministries, Departments and Agencies of Government in the State to prioritize inter- agency collaboration and efficiency for the success of their operations.

Hon. Bello threw the challenge while considering the audit report on the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the consideration of its financial records presented by the Commissioner, Chief Sesan Fagbayi alongside the Permanent Secretary Dr. Qudus Adegboyega.

Hon. Bello emphasized the importance of inter-agency cooperation as well as strategic measures towards improving revenue generation and optimizing resources for better service to the people of the State.

The Committee Chairman in company of Honourables Musefiu Lamidi, Lukman Adeleye, Babatunde Tella, Adegoke Adeyanju, Yusuf Amosun, Waliu Owode and Hon. Fatiu Folawewo, also considered the audit report on the State Agro Services Corporation as well as its financial report for the period presented by the Director, Engineering Services of the Agency, Engr. Toheeb Logunleko.

The Committee requested the agency to submit comprehensive documents covering the storage facilities, land and agricultural infrastructure of the Corporation by 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 12.

In their responses, Chief Fagbayi outlined the Ministry’s plans for a public-private partnership to revitalize the Olumo Rock Tourist Centre and the Yemoji Natural Pool amongst others, while Engr. Logunleko assured that all documents requested by the House Committee would be supplied in due course.
