OGUN SPEAKER COMMENDS AWUJALE’S INITIATIVE ON PROFESSORIAL CHAIR IN GOVERNANCE
The Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide has commended the Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba (Dr.) Sikiru Kayode Adetona for his role as a rallying point for good governance through his significant contributions in human development by initiating a Professorial Chair in Governance at the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye.
The Speaker, in company of his colleague-lawmakers gave the commendation today while receiving a delegation from the Oba (Dr.) Sikiru Kayode Adetona School of Governance Studies led by the occupant of the Professorial Chair, Professor Akinsola Alabi Agagu at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
The Speaker noted that the long reign of the Paramount Ruler of Ijebu land is dedicated to service and making positive impacts in all areas including good governance.
Earlier in his presentation, Professor Agagu, on behalf of the School of Governance Studies expressed appreciation to the Assembly for passing people oriented legislations, saying the copies of the book titled: “Reinventing Governance in Nigeria”, would equip all members of the 10th Assembly in dealing with issues relating to governance.
He enjoined the lawmakers to take advantage of the school that was commissioned by the nation’s Vice President, Kashim Shettima on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to acquire more knowledge in governance and public service.
