OGUN ASSEMBLY PARTNERS REDWOOD HOSPITAL FOR COMPREHENSIVE HEALTH SCREENING FOR LAWMAKERS, WORKERS
As members of the Ogun State House of Assembly together with the workers underwent comprehensive health screening by the team from Redwood Hospital led by Dr. Aminat Durodola, through an initiative of the Assembly, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide stated that the essence was to promote the health wellbeing of the people.
The Speaker made the remarks shortly after undergoing the screening which included electrocardiography, sugar level, blood pressure level and urine analysis amongst others conducted on the State lawmakers and all categories of workers in the Assembly, at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan Abeokuta.
He noted that the screening would save cost and assist all individuals screened to know their health status, and those that required referral were being referred to their various individual hospitals for follow ups.
According to the Speaker, ” as legislature, we make laws for order, development and wellbeing of our citizens, so we should start from the office here, as you could see the medical experts who came are from one of the best, if not the best private hospital in Ogun State in term of equipment, aside Babcock and Olabisi Onabanjo Teaching Hospital”.
He said that the Assembly synergized with the hospital to safe cost for members and workers, saying the quality of equipment paraded by the hospital would minimise discrepancies or inaccuracies in results obtained after the tests.
Elemide also disclosed that plans were underway by the Assembly to have its staff clinic, as approved by the Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, saying that it was currently undergoing bureaucratic process preparatory to its taking off.
Responding on behalf of his co-lawmakers, the Chairman House Committee on Information, Culture and Tourism, Hon. Olusegun Kaka Odunuga noted that representation had to go with pressure, hence the need for the lawmakers and workers to know their state of health, appreciating the management of Redwood Hospital for the screening.
He said that the results would guide all the individuals screened on how to manage their health.
